It is estimated by WHO (World Health Organisation) that more than 4% or greater than 300 million people of the World population suffer from depression. Women suffer more depression than men by almost twice as much. This situation is worsened by the unenviable Covid conditions and other life events.

Depression is a mood state that arises in response to the brain going into a mode of retreat from the stringent demands or previously enjoyable engagements of life. How does the African society define depression? How does the Covid situation trigger or worsen a depression response? How did the African ancients solve the depression problem?
