In the article written by Stellah Kwasi of ISS (Institute For Security Studies) Africa based in Azania, replicating global responses to COVID-19 may not work for Africa. Africa needs to independently focus on vulnerable communities and context-specific responses to defeat the SARS Cov2, the virus that causes Covid-19 respiratory stealth killer disease. Everyone of you has President Ramaphosa speech which I just sent or you watched TV or listened to the radio. There is a link to the full speech at the end of this article.

Note this from the speech of President Cyril Ramaphosa of Azania:

As I have said previously, if we end the lockdown too soon or too abruptly, we risk a massive and uncontrollable resurgence of the disease.

We will therefore follow a phased approach, guided by the best available scientific evidence, to gradually lift the restrictions on economic activity“.

This segment of the speech is very omnious! It is a prophetic statement! It is an omen of things to come! We must all prepare for this.

Decoding The Meaning of the Omen

This is the meaning:

1. The lockdown cannot be there forever. It will go on for a couple of months and then be lifted.

2. The reason the lockdown cannot go on forever, besides being damaging to the economy and social lives, the lockdown cannot protect us forever from the SARS Cov2 (the stealth corona virus that causes the respiratory disease of Covid-19).

3. To understand #2, think about a Black mother who has just given birth to a baby. She keeps the baby indoors so that the baby does not breath the cold air outside because she fears the cold air will kill the baby. She also fears the rough winds will asphyxiate the baby. She also fears that the smog will also kill lungs of the baby. Thus, she keeps the baby under a tight lockdown similar the stringent lockdown of Azania (South Africa). Notwithstanding, the Black mama knows that this lockdown cannot protect the baby forever. At some point, the baby must inhale the cold air, rough winds and the lung damaging smog. It is now up to the baby to have a strong enough immune system to survive the tropospheric conditions of the terrestrial space.

This is what the Basotho mean when they say:

*Ya senang sekaja, mmae a tele / The child that has no adaptive rate of change to enhance its survival experience, its mother must give up*.

The sekaja comes from the breastfeeding. If the baby didn’t get adequate immune boosting support from the bosoms of the mother, then the survival chances of the baby are reduced.

During the lockdown, did you manage to boost your immune system? Or you were cavalier about your lifestyle? The truth will come out at the end of the lockdown when you begin to inhale the cold air of Covid-19 into your lungs. There is no vaccine. You must naturally develop a good immune response. You were given a chance during the lockdown to achieve that. Like an African baby that must finally develop its own independent immune system after the mother’s lockdown, you must also develop your immune system.
