About Kgolaboloko
Kgolaboloko is spelt using Sesotho sa Matamong.
Book Description of Kgolaboloko
An African boy who is forced by circumstences to relocate to an unfamiliar environment where he has to start life all over again after losing his mother at a tender age takes an investigative interest in an African beetle Kgolaboloko wherein he makes a startling discovery that a beetle dance performed by Kgolaboloko is a geolocation method that allows the beetle to scan the heavens and the star systems to retrieve a unique celestial map that enables Kgolaboloko to traverse the dangerous grassland even at night like a GPS navigator a fact that he had heard narrated many times in the legends of the Mlangeni clan but is now confirmed by his independent observation. It is herein that the story of the roots of African cosmology by genesis begins.
The scholarly chapter Kgolaboloko: African Roots of Cosmic Genesis is inspired by a unique African story in the village of Matamong in the Free State province of Azania (South Africa). Albeit a scholarly chapter with inline citations and scientific references but unlike a dry scholarly text, this uniquely African text blends the scientific scholarship and the indigenous storytelling of the African griots to provoke the mind and to grab the interest of the reader in a synergistic fashion that makes the African story come alive.
