The Preamble

In Western societies, philosophy is the superset of knowledge systems premised upon three disciplines namely (1) epistemology; (2) metaphysics and (3) ethics as confirmed in the scholarly tradition of a PhD degree program that underscores the ontological primacy of philosophy as the superset of knowledge systems.  Notwithstanding, the Basotho, like other Africans, uniquely conceptualise about philosophy as a subcase of cosmology making philosophy a derivative of cosmic knowledge. This fact is attested for by the existence of the doctoral school systems of Mophato, among the Basotho ancients, which used the system of geomancy as a mathematical modelling of the star systems thus creating a synergistic link between human destiny and the star systems of the heavens as shown in the books Sesotho Dictionary of Mathematics and The Sacred Knowledge of the Desert: African Philosophical Transcendence by this author. In this scholarly discourse, we show the African ways of knowing; the  metaphysical science and the modalities used by the African natives to conceptualise about freedom and the new phenomena like the impending advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in order to enhance the survival experience of the futuristic generations.
